I think that there is a very important...I disagree. I think that there is a very important place for training in educational psychology for teachers to use. I write as one who did a Diploma of Education at university.<br><br>I agree, though, that teaching is something you can't learn from sitting in a classroom. Like Nursing, Occupational Therapy and other skills-based professions, the best way to learn how to teach is to teach.<br><br>Having said that, though, I think it is essential for those who do have the ability to teach to do the courses at university. It will help them. I mentioned that I was considering taking some certification classes, even though I'm only interested in private education, and he strongly discouraged that. After 30 years, he is of the opinion that the methods and ideas about education that they teach in those classes are useless, at best.
